Ride for the Rangers

On February 1st, 1944, the 1st and 3rd Ranger Battalions of the U.S. Army conducted a raid behind enemy lines to capture the town of Cisterna, Italy. It is located just 20 Km from the Anzio and Nettuno Beachheads. Of the 767 Rangers involved in the mission, all but 6 men were killed or captured. Our mission is to honor their memory, their heroic dedication and their ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. WE MUST NEVER FORGET! A 6-man team, including Tony Lonero, will be representing the 6 Rangers who returned from the battle! We will be riding 767 Km, which represents the number of Rangers who went into the Battle at Cisterna! They will cycle nonstop from the Sicily Rome Cemetery in Nettuno on May 28, 2021 at 1700 hours to the city of Salerno and then back to Nettuno to raise money to commission a marble plaque to honor these Rangers!
